Baked cotton epoxy or phenolic felts AIRLAY system
In the household appliance market, cotton and synthetic felts from LACUS FELT France are used for thermal and acoustic insulation.
Recycled cotton felt mixed with thermoplastic or phenolic resin is used for its acoustic properties and controlled cost.
Fully polymerized felt is composed of textile fibers bonded with a phenolic or non-phenolic resin, possibly with the addition of a flame retardant or expanding agent. This results in a firm, rigid, and potentially flame-retardant felt, the composition of which depends on the customer's specifications. It differs from pre-cured felt in the temperature and duration of the polymerization process (heating).
Unlike pre-cured products, the resin in these markers is fully activated, creating a perfectly bonded marker ready to be cut and positioned as desired. Fully cured markers are blue-gray with epoxy resin and green with phenolic resin. A yellow shade can also be achieved by using phenolic resin mixed with white cotton.
